Elizabeth Lake Lodge History
Elizabeth Lake Lodge was built on the location of the Ponderosa Motel. It has been our endeavor to re-orientate the lodge towards the bird sanctuary. We now have all our rooms looking out, over this 250 acre wetland.
In 2008 major upgrades continued to happen, the start was a new fence backing the RV Park and a portion of the Mini Golf. This improvement alone cannot be missed by anyone who travels by the south end of Cranbrook. the Addition of the 1077 Locomotive in the Mini Golf as a functional hole and historic replica of the original which now resides in Fort Steele. The upgrades continue with the landscaping on the lakeside of Elizabeth Lake Lodge. The trees planted continue to thrive and the rock creek meanders among them down the length of the lodge. To finish off the year the parking area by the Mini Golf was increased with a new retaining wall and fence.
2009 brings new upgrades, The parking lot has once again been increased, this time in front of the office. The new surface area will allow more room to park and turn around after registration. The new deck is now concrete with the entrance taking on an eye catching stature, fitting with the Lodge's new presence. In behind the scenes the office has been expanded with a beautiful window overlooking Mount Fisher and the Rockies.
